Welcome to the Garretson Band Program 


000000500.JPG​My name is Mr. Sittig. I am the director of bands here at Garretson. I have a Masters in music education both in Choral and Instrumental music. I recieved my BA degree from the University of Sioux Falls, and I completed my Masters at the University of South Dakota. I believe that music can make a difference in a students life. Music classes are one out of other Fine Art classes that make students create and perform on a daily basis. Creating, performing, listening and most importantly, being musical are all requirements of music students. Characteristics like these, help students prepare for a future in any field.

My responsibilites at Garretson include conducting all 3 bands in grades 5-12. I also teach individual or small group lessons to grades 5-8 only. I also conduct the Pep Band and Parade Band which include grades 7-12.
